On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Staff of the Foundation for Inner Peace, I am delighted to extend a very warm welcome to you to the Web site of A Course in Miracles. I hope that the variety of information you find throughout our site answers any questions you may have about the Course, and that you also find the material presented within it both helpful and inspiring.

While on the faculty of New York University teaching courses in experimental psychology, I had the pleasure of meeting Drs. Schucman and Thetford. The year was 1975, and they chose me to publish A Course in Miracles under the aegis of my foundation. In the 1990s I retired as a founding board member of the Institute for Noetic Sciences and the Fetzer Institute to focus my efforts on disseminating the Course.

The Foundation for Inner Peace published the first edition of A Course in Miracles in late 1975. Initial attraction to this remarkable, complete, self-study spiritual thought system was limited to only a few enthusiastic students in the United States. Soon after, however, interest spread rapidly and has continued since then at a steady pace, both nationally and internationally.

As of today, we have over a million and a half volumes of A Course in Miracles in English which are in circulation worldwide. In addition, translations in Afrikaans, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovene, Spanish, and Swedish have been published, with eight other languages now in process in the Foundation's translation program. Together these translated editions, along with the original English version, allow about 90 percent of the world's population to study the Course, while those being translated, when published, will bring this figure to nearly 93 percent. With such worldwide reception, the Foundation for Inner Peace is ever mindful of those interested in A Course in Miracles who seek a first-hand, authentic account of what the Course is and the extraordinary story behind it, including its scribes, its purpose, what it offers, and the activities that have evolved and are evolving around it. Our Web site, therefore, has been designed to offer you a unique and wide variety of original and archival information about A Course in Miracles, as well as interactive activities you are invited to participate in, such as "Lesson of the Day" and our "Adopt-A-Language Program."
